Rosedale House Elopement
I really loved telling Chris and Melissa’s elopement story. Storytelling is such a big part of what we do at Bigday.ie. so we’re not just wedding videographers. Chris and Melissa have such a deep and emotional connection and share a quirky sense of humour with a unique take on life. They married in a registry office in San Francisco but followed their hearts to tie the knot in Ireland. They had their own unique ceremony, with Melissa’s old friend as their personal celebrant.
They wrote their own personal vows and the location was the lovely Rosedale House in Shankill, Co. Dublin. They hired the entire house and with only close family present celebrated a beautiful day. Melissa tends bar and that’s how they met, so they were keen to go to a local bar in Shankill and Melissa poured a pint for Chris. I loved capturing their story, sights and sounds, as they described how they met. They went back for corned beef and cabbage, and a family meal, round one big table. I’m really hoppy to share a piece of their day and they were so happy with the film I made. A destination wedding or elopement can be such an intimate and personal idea for a wedding and there are so many amazing venues and locations in Ireland.
